In this article we will explain where you can find information on multi-currency payments in your Grassrootz account and how multi-currency payments appear in your reports.
Viewing multi-currency payments in the Grassrootz admin
You can view multi-currency payments in the Grassrootz admin like any other payment. Navigate to your Donations tab then locate the specific donation you want to view, click the three dots, then View.
You will see all the donation details including a new option to Show amounts in AUD if your organisation is based in Australia (AUD will be replaced by your organisation's currency if you are not based in Australia)
If you click this option, all of the amounts on the View donation page will be converted to your home currency.
You can click Show amounts in JPY to revert back to the original view.
Multi-currency payments in reports
Multi-currency payments in reports will appear in the currency that has been donated.
E.g. If your donor makes their payment in Japanese Yen, the amount, fee, tax columns etc. will all appear in Japanese Yen.
You can easily identify multi-currency payments by looking at the currency column, which will display the 3 letter currency code for that payment.
In the Advanced file format report, there are additional multi-currency payment columns to assist in your reporting.
- exchangeRate - The exchange rate at the time of the transaction
- amountConverted - The total transacted amount converted into your home currency
- netAmountConverted - The net amount converted into your home currency after fees have been taken out
