Fraud prevention on Grassrootz

Security is critical to our charity partners and donors and something we take very seriously at Grassrootz. 

Grassrootz uses the latest standards in payment security and fraud prevention, and we continually adapt our system based on evolving industry best practice.

We have built our donation forms to not only be very user friendly on desktop and mobile devices, but also highly secure. 

When a donation is made on Grassrootz:

• All data transfer is completed via a secure and encrypted HTTPS connection.

• Grassrootz  uses CAPTCHA on donations, ticket sales and other important transactions in the system, which greatly reduces the potential for fraudulent transactions.

• Grassrootz uses the payment gateway Stripe, which has sophisticated anti-fraud technology (more details provided below).

• Grassrootz does not receive nor store any credit card information - credit card information is tokenized and processed by Stripe, which is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1 (the most stringent level of certification available).

Our payment processor Stripe is used and trusted by some of the largest companies in the world, including Google, Amazon, Salesforce, Shopify and many more.

Stripe has in-built sophisticated anti-fraud technology, Stripe Radar, which scans every payment made through the platform using thousands of signals from across the Stripe network to help detect and prevent fraud.

By learning from millions of global businesses processing billions in payments each year, Stripe Radar can assign risk scores to every payment and automatically block many high-risk payments.
