Selling merchandise as part of your campaigns is a fantastic way to boost your fundraising revenue and brand awareness if you sell charity-branded items.
Grassrootz currently supports selling merchandise as part of the Ticketing/Registration feature so that tickets, merchandise, donations and fundraising are seamlessly integrated into one simple transaction.
Once set up within your Grassrootz admin account, your merchandise will display as the third step of the ticketing flow as pictured below.
Instructions
Step 1 - To add merchandise to your Ticketing/Registration flow, you must log in to your Grassrootz account and find the relevant campaign. Click edit and navigate to the Ticketing tab. (Please note: Merchandise can only be added to campaigns that have Ticketing enabled. Find out more about setting up Ticketing here.)
Step 2 - At the bottom of the Ticketing section you will see a new section called Merchandise during ticketing - select this option to reveal the Merchandise tab on the left-hand side of your screen.
Step 3 - Click the new Merchandise tab and select Add Item to add your first product. You can add the following information for each item:
- Product Image 350 x 350px
- Name*
- Description
- Sales tax (GST)
- SKU information*
- Name - E.g. Size, colour, or another variation of the product
- Price - leave blank for free merch
- Quantity - This will be visible to ticket purchasers or leave it blank for unlimited quantities.
* These fields are mandatory.
Once all the information has been added make sure to hit Save.
Important Note: If you need to ship the merchandise to your ticket purchasers make sure to include the shipping cost in the price of each item as this is not calculated separately. Alternatively, you can let the purchaser know where to collect their merchandise from by adding a note to the item description e.g. All merchandise can be collected on event day.
Step 4 - Once all of your products have been added, click Save All to make your merchandise visible within your Ticketing/Registation flow. Your supporters will now be able to purchase merchandise when signing up for your campaign. They will also receive a confirmation email post-sign-up that lists their ticket along with any merchandise they purchased.
Step 5 - If needed, you can also edit your products by selecting Edit located below the product image.
Step 6 - To view merchandise sales within your Grassrootz admin account, navigate to the Sales tab and select Merchandise. You can also export the report as a CSV file.
Grassrootz admins will also see merchandise sales in their daily summary emails. To opt-in for individual Sales notifications, head to your Account Settings - Email Notifications tab, select the Sale option and click Save.
